4 WINS IN A ROW FOR THE RANGERS

Last night the Rangers beat their division rivals, the Columbus Blue Jackets, 5-3. The Rangers power play was great last night scoring 3 of the Rangers 5 goals. The Rangers also honored Rick Nash for playing over 1,000 NHL games with both the Rangers and their competitor the Blue Jackets.

The Rangers had a very good 1st period, but no goals were scored in the 1st. The Blue Jacket got off to a good start in the 2nd with 2 goals the by Artemi Panarin and Josh Anderson in the first 5 minutes of  2nd. The Rangers would get one back in the 2nd by Michael Grabner, 2-1 Blue Jackets after 2 periods of play. Then came the power play goals the first came from Kevin Shattenkirk to tie the game up at 2. The Blue Jackets would respond with a goal to give them the lead 3-2 by Oliver Bjorkstrand. Good for the Rangers it would  be the last goal the Blue Jackets would score. The Rangers would score another power play this time by Chris Kreider to tie the game back by at 3. You guessed it the Rangers scored another power play goal to give them the lead 4-3 and the goal was scored by Pavel Buchnevich and would be the game winning goal too. Michael Grabner would score his 2nd goal of the game, an empty net goal to give the Rangers a 5-3 win over their division rival.

The Rangers have now won 4 games in a row and 5 of their last 6 games and I was at the one loss ironically enough. The Rangers started this season 2-6-2 in their first 10 games, but now with the win last night they have a 7-7-2 record which is obviously much better.  The Rangers will next play the Bruins on Wednesday and will go for their 5th straight win and have a winning record for the first time this season.
