Are you or anyone you know is obsessed with anime? If so how would you know feeling that there was a place where all the biggest names in anime were all in one place? On Saturday, January 27, 2018,  I spent three hours  at the Sachem Public Library for Sachem Con, a meet up f0r all anime enthusiasts to come together and interact with each other in cosplay through tournaments, raffles, venders, and anime trivia. When I first walked downstairs to the lower floor I noticed a lot of cosplayers from anime ranging from  Black Butler to Dragon Ball Z ; they were  signing up for raffles and the Cosplay costume costume. The cutest cosplayers being Pinkie Pie, Apple Jax, and Twilight from My Little Pony.  My favorite was Eleven from Stranger Things doning a denim jacket and pink dress with the white collar, eating ego waffles in her hand.  In community room B there were lots of  crafts and venders selling anything from  famous celebrity and movie caricatures, to Pokemon plush,  jewelry and other anime figurines. It was there where I meet up with my fellow Sachem North Gamer’s club members and we set up our stand. We were selling our older play station and wii games that no one really played with anymore.  The two Gamer’s Club Presidents and I eventually walked around and took photos with some real life Ghost Busters and Star Wars Storm Troopers.  One of them was cosplaying as death and we had to be careful of tripping on her long black cape when going up and down the library stairs. In Community Room C there was a Smash Bros and Street Fighter Tournaments going  on and young kids watching screenings of famous anime like Dragon Ball Super, Yu-gi-oh, Naruto, and Sailor Moon Crystal.  Librarians were showing kids how to draw  their favorite characters from Sailor Moon. There was also a local band called Geek and Guitars playing classic songs from iconic video games like The Legend of Zelda(Rabbit Joint Cover) and Hammerhead (Final Fantasy IV) in Main Stage (Room A).  The anime trivia was held in the Main Stage (Room A) where two contestants at a time would have to buzz in to answer the given question from various anime cartoons correctly in order to move on. The winner got a really cool talking Pikachu plush. The Gamer Con ended with a raffle where my friend Becca’s buddy got a Naruto plush and a book on Yu-gi-oh.  Sachem Con was definitely an experience I’ll never forget and will definitely be returning to next year with more of my fellow Gamer’s Club members.
